Winter Salt Cellar

There was a sudden winter snowfall on Boxing Day 2014 but I was away in Exeter. When I arrived back in Sheffield, the snow had thawed slightly but I was keen to head out to the Derbyshire Peak District to photograph some of the wintry scene before the temperature rose.
After a slog up above Ladybower Reservoir I reached the Salt Cellar just before the sun set on the day. The rich orange glow of the sun, and for once some nice cloud cover, was a nice contrast to the white snow as the light levels fell and made for a rewarding end to my long walk to reach the spot.
